Autograph letters signed to Richard Hughes, Sadler's Wells, from various correspondents [manuscript], 18th-19th century.

Correspondents: J. Shatford and G. Sandford. (1) Dated: Salisby, Feb. 18th. Signed J. Shatford. Mentions the final performance of the Spectre (likely Lewis' The castle spectre) and discusses some of the challenges of staging this play. (2) Dated: Salisby, Tuesdy even. Signed J. Shatford. Concerns schedule and payment for his company. He cannot stay after Passion Week. (3) Dated: Dock, Jany 7th 1812. Signed G. Sandford. Concerns bills of actors and the receipts for several productions. Says "the first of the Tempest for the season, from its success last year, my expectations were somewhat raised, and greatly disappointed the receipts were but £27 - perhaps twelfth night was unfavorable."
